A Guide To Conservative Care For Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis continues to be the most common pathology we see at the Washington Heel Pain Center. The majority of patients we encounter have seen quite a few other physicians and are often here for second or third opinions. It is important to note that there are many conservative mechanisms that seem to be extremely beneficial patients with plantar fasciitis. We see stretching of the Achilles tendon with proper technique in frequency can often times lead to reduction in symptoms.

Additionally things like neural stimulation if the plantar medial nerve is involved, steroid injections of the plantar fascia and addressing mechanical dysfunction with a prescription style orthotic. Plantar fasciitis can be quite debilitating condition and it is important to involve foot and ankle surgeon who is quite familiar with this condition. We find often times other potential causes or overlooked a need to be addressed in order to get reduction of symptoms for patients.
